Hi friends! It’s the start of a new month, so time for another Month in Review blog!
In this series, I fill you in on what’s happened in the past month and talk about new goals I’m setting for the upcoming month.
Check out the previous “Month in Review” posts to see what other goals I’ve set this year:
So, let’s get into it!
Month in Review – November 2020
DAILY GRATITUDE JOURNAL
Last month I challenged myself to write down one thing that I’m thankful for every day. I used this journaling practice to help me stay positive no matter what happened around me.
After 30 days, my brain became accustomed to seeing the good in everyday things.
- I lay in my bed and think about how grateful I am to have a warm place to sleep.
- I take a shower and think about how blessed I am to have hot running water.
- I’m writing this blog post and am thankful to have the means to own a laptop.
Gratitude journaling has been really therapeutic for me. It helps me pay more attention to what’s around me and actively find the benefit in everything.

I GOT PERSONAL
This month I shared part one of “My Adoption Story” series, and it was all about what family means to me as an adoptee.
I decided to write about my adoption because I want to use my platform to show another side of adoption – the adoptee’s side.
This series requires me to be very vulnerable with you all.
But, I’m grateful that it allows me an opportunity to explore things like what “identity and belonging” mean to me.
Be on the lookout for the rest of the series coming soon!
I INVESTED IN ME
So, I kind of spent a lot this Black Friday…
BUT! The deals I took advantage of were for tools that will help me run and expand my business capabilities.
I also signed up for a comprehensive blogger boot camp.
I made these long-term investments in myself because I’m committed to making this blog successful.
I know that this is what I want to do, so I’m going to do what it takes to make it happen.
NOVEMBER FAVORITE: MY TRIBE
My monthly favorite for this month is my group of friends!
Whether it’s promoting each other’s businesses on social or sending a quick “you got this” text on the side – this month, my friends have been lifting each other up!
Yes, you can try to do things on your own, but you expand your purview when you have a tribe of supportive friends.
You have more eyeballs looking out for opportunities for you! We are powerful when we band together.
I’m thankful 2020 brought my friends even closer together and that we’re all challenging ourselves to go outside of the box.
I’m glad that we have each other to lean on and reach out to whenever times get tough.
I’m excited to see what unfolds in 2021!

BLOGGING BOOT CAMP
This month I’m committed to finishing and implementing strategies from my blogger boot camp!
This boot camp was an investment ($$), so I’m determined to get as much as I can out of the course.
I’m going to do this by:
- Blocking out time in my schedule dedicated only to my boot camp
- Committing to implementing the strategies I learn right away
- Being active in the boot camp blogging community
JAPANESE LANGUAGE
I started learning Japanese at the beginning of 2020 because I wanted to speak the language before my big three-month Japan trip (which, for obvious reasons, got postponed this year).
I kept it up for a good portion of 2020 but then eventually deprioritized my lessons.
I became less motivated to learn since I’m not able to visit Japan any time soon.
After writing part one of “My Adoption Story” I was reminded of why I wanted to learn the language in the first place.
I want to feel more connected to my birthplace and not feel like such an outsider.
This month, I’m going to do at least one thing a day to improve my Japanese language skills, whether that’s through my Japanese Pod 101 lessons, watching a show in Japanese, or studying Hiragana/Katakana.
2021 VISION BOARD
There’s a lot of uncertainty about how the world will look next year.
Will we still be grappling with the spread of COVID-19? Or, will the world slowly be able to go back to normal by the end of next year?
Regardless, my goal this month is to create a 2021 vision board!
A vision board is a physical representation of the life you envision for yourself. It helps put your mind in the right frequency to look for things that will support your vision.
I definitely want to do this before the start of the new year so I have inspiration as I set new goals and milestones for 2021!

Final Thoughts
2020 has been a year of extreme growth for me.
I love referring to the COVID stay at home orders as my “incubator period” because it provided a unique opportunity to lay the foundation for my post-COVID dream life.
It gave me more time to work on myself and my goals without the guilt that I’m missing out on anything in the outside world.
As we round out 2020, I want to continue focusing on growth and making the most of this unusual time in our lives.
