The power of words
How words shape our reality
Be mindful of what you speak into existence. If you say things enough times, they become your reality.
You start to believe them, and so do others around you.
You have the power to choose words that form the life that you want.
Don’t focus all your energy complaining and putting negative thoughts into the world.
Negative words and concepts ignite activity in our brain’s fear center, causing our bodies to release stress and anxiety-inducing hormones. Therefore, causing you to act in response to your fear.
Focus your energy on positive words. If you use negative or self-deprecating comments frequently, you are using your power against yourself.
Why positive affirmations work
Affirmations repeated over and over become internalized and affect your self-perception over time.
In their book, Words Can Change Your Brain, neuroscientist Andrew Newberg, M.D. and Mark Waldman say that:
“A single word has the power to influence the expression of genes that regulate physical and emotional stress.”

In their research, they found that your brain and your perception of reality changes after prolonged concentration on positive and optimistic thoughts.
