Craft nightย
Spend a night DIYing Halloween decorations, carve a pumpkin, or maybe now’s the time to learn how to knit or crochet.
How cute are these Halloween crochet kits for adults??
Read a book with a cozy fall setting
Whether itโs cozying up to a romance novel or diving into a fun mystery, fall is one of the best times to read a new book. Throw on a sweatshirt, light some candles, and get comfy on the couch.

Cook a fall dish
Try your hand at making a seasonal fall food item. Autumn is the season of apples, pumpkins, and butternut squash, and itโs also the season of some of the warmest, most comforting foods.
Here are some fall foods to consider making:ย
Try a digital detox night in
Turn off the electronics and spend the night offline. Read a book, do some crafts or puzzles (I love this cute fall New Yorker puzzle), or maybe cook or bake your favorite autumn dish.
Themed movie night
Stay in and have a night full of movies that all fall into a specific theme. For example, scary movies, holiday movies, fall romantic comedies, etc. Or, you can watch Halloween episodes of your favorite TV shows! Just donโt forget to stock up on snacks, a warm, cozy drink (pumpkin spice or apple cider, anyone?), and donโt forget the freshly popped popcorn!
A nice touch could be adding some lighted fall garland around your place.
Pumpkin carving
Find the perfect pumpkin from the grocery store or pumpkin patch. Then, throw on some Halloween music and sip on a fall drink while you carve your pumpkin! Not to mention, the attention needed for pumpkin carving is a great way to bring you back to the present and is a great mindfulness activity.
There are some great pumpkin carving kit options with stencils for a solo carving session or a pumpkin carving party with friends (or family).
Fall-themed dinner
Feel like being social? Organize a fall-themed dinner with friends and have everyone bring something seasonal. Use this dinner as an excuse to decorate and get into the fall spirit!
Redecorate your home for the fall
Bust out the decorations and turn your home into a fall-themed oasis for you. This is great, especially if you work from home, because it will liven up your workspace and give you a change of scenery.
It can be as simple as adding a warm throw blanket and pillows in autumn colors.
Fall cleaning
Who says deep cleaning can only happen in the spring? Decluttering, cleaning, and making space for the new may be exactly what you need to jump-start the fall season.
Check out this blog post for more on the benefits of decluttering and how to re-energize your space.
