Many people have said vision boards were a pivotal contributor to manifesting their dream life. This post will go over what a vision board is and how to use one to achieve your goals.
What is a vision board?
A vision board is a physical representation of your goals. It’s filled with imagery, words of affirmation, inspirational quotes. Everything that motivates you and is specific to the life you want to live.
You use pictures that represent how you envision your life when you’ve reached your goal.
You use words that describe how you’ll feel when you achieve the goal and phrases representing how you want to feel daily.
You are creating a visual collage of pictures and words that represent the life you want to live.
Why do they work?
Visualization is a powerful tool used by many people to manifest their dream life and reach goals. Athletes use visualization to train because research has found that mental practices are almost as powerful as physical practices.
Michael Phelps used visualization to train for the 2016 Rio Olympics by watching a “mental videotape” of his races morning and night.
He conditioned his mind for success by mentally visualizing himself, winning races over and over. The more you rehearse the image, the more the habits to get there become ingrained in you.
According to Psychology Today, mental imagery and visualization impact many cognitive processes associated with enhancing motivation and increasing confidence and self-efficacy.
So, here’s how you can get the maximum results from your vision board.

How to use a vision board
Put your vision board, where you can see it often.
Your vision board should be accessible and in a place where you can look, engage, and be inspired by it often.
This will prompt you to visualize your goals and dreams every day to condition your mind to see success habitually.
Continuously think about what’s on your board.
It’s true that when you want a particular type of car, you start seeing it everywhere. Seek, and you will find.
Train your mind to have a mindset geared towards finding the opportunities that support your dreams.
Believe that everything on your board is already yours.
Don’t let doubt deter you from achieving what you want in life. You can have whatever you want in life if you believe in yourself. Look at your board and understand that this life is already in your grasp!
Once you start believing in yourself, then you’ll start acting and attracting things in your life that support this vision.
One life. Just one. Why aren’t we running like we are on fire towards our dreams?
Connect with it emotionally.
Look at your board and imagine what it’d feel like actually to live this life. Hold that vision and feeling in your mind and use that energy to propel yourself towards reaching that goal.
If you have a board and don’t believe in your heart that your vision is possible, you won’t do what it takes to make it happen.
Acknowledge the milestones you’ve achieved.
Take time to acknowledge how far you’ve come. Celebrate all the small wins! Doing so will keep you emotionally connected to your goal.
Give thanks for your opportunities. Keep these wins on the board and use it as a reminder of progress!
Look at your board before bed and when you wake up.
Start and end your day with visuals of what you want in life. This will keep your vision top of mind and will help you start and end your day at a high vibration.
Pay attention to your negative thoughts.
Ignore things you don’t wish to attract in your life. If you focus on the negative, then that’s what will keep recurring in your life.
Be present.
Focus on the things that you can control. Don’t live in the past or the future, or you’ll risk missing opportunities that are right in front of you.
Keep yourself in the present and ask yourself what you can do right now to support your life’s vision.
