I love train spotting in Japan! So, when I discovered the train line I saw on Instagram was located only an hour away from Tokyo, in a charming seaside coastal town, I jumped at the chance to visit the area!
As it turns out, the Enoshima Electric Railway, also known as the Enoden Line, is one of the best ways to explore all the sightseeing spots along the Shonan coast–with the railway running from Fujisawa to Kamakura.
In this article, you’ll get information about how to ride the Enoden line and my recommendations of places to visit along the railway!

How do you pay for the Enoden Line?
Can you use JR Pass for the Enoden line?
No, they are run by different companies.
How much is the Enoden line?
For reference, the cost of Enoshima to Kamakura is 260 yen for adults one way. Hase to Kamakura is 200 yen. You can use this Enoden train fare calculator for more fare cost examples.
Can you use Suica for Enoden?
Yes. You can use your Suica and Pasmo IC cards to cover the train fare.
Enoden 1-day Pass Ticket “Noriorikun”
If you plan to take more stops throughout the day, I recommend getting a 1-day pass ticket.
I did not buy a one-day pass when I did a Kamakura day trip from Tokyo. However, I did purchase a pass when I hopped on and off throughout the day in my “Enoshima Electric Railway” vlog.
The Noriorikun is 800 yen for Adults and 400 yen for children.
You can purchase the pass from vending machines at all stations along the line.
Find more information about the train line and tickets on the Enoden Train Official Website.
Enoshima Electric Railway Eki (Train Stamp) Collecting
One of my favorite ways to commemorate my Japan travel adventures is to collect eki (train station) stamps. Eki stamps can be collected at train stations, typically JR stations, that showcase what the train stop is known for.
There are eki stamps at almost every stop along the Enoden line! I recommend grabbing an eki book and collecting them at each stop so you can remember what places along the line you visited.
What stops are along the Enoden Line?
You can find a map of the Enoden line stops on the official railway website.
Below is a list of some of my favorite places to visit along the Enoshima Railway line.
Kamakura Station–Great shopping area with significant temples. This temple, which has a bamboo forest, is accessible by a short bus ride from Kamakura Station.
Hase Station–This is where you stop to visit the Great Buddha of Kamakura; the walk to the Buddha includes lots of small shops to get Kamakura souvenirs; the area also has fantastic coffee shops if you head towards the water.
Kamakurakōkō-Mae Station–This is the stop to get the iconic shot of the Enoden Line that’s made famous from the manga “Slam Dunk.”
Enoshima Station–The area near this station has “little Hawaii” vibes. It’s more laidback with an emphasis on surfing and coastal vibes. Enoshima Island is accessible from this stop as well.
