Hi friends! It’s the start of a new month, so time for another Month in Review blog!
I started this monthly series as a way to bring you into my world a little more.
In this series, I fill you in on what’s happened in the past month and talk about new goals I’m setting for the upcoming month.
You can see what goals I previously set for May here: Month in Review + May 2021 Goals.
So, let’s get into it!

Month in Review – May 2021
FRESH START
May marked the first month working for myself. It was a huge milestone and the start of a brand new WILD chapter.
And being the dramatic person that I am, I decided that I needed to start this new chapter by shedding old layers and start completely fresh.
What do I mean by that?
- New hair (cut and color because – GOODBYE, quarantine hair!)
- New phone (because taking photos on the go is my job, ya know?)
- Revisited and rewrote my business plans and goals
- Purged and deep cleaned my apartment (the Home Edit and Marie Kondo were my muses!)
“The Purge” (i.e., the nickname for my deep clean and purging weekend) was the best feeling EVER!
I have lived in this same apartment for the past almost six years! The exact amount of time I was at my old agency. So, I was ready to give my apartment a facelift.
I was ready to purge and rejuvenate my space. I wanted to level it up to match the energy I would give to my new endeavors.

REUNIONS, LOTS OF THEM!
May was also the month where I finally reunited with friends and family! Now that we’re all vaccinated, I could see and hug everyone without doom and gloom fear.
The reunions hit different, not only because it had been a year since we saw each other, but also because I could be fully present with everyone.
Previously, I would try to be present, but my mind always wandered to the looming amount of work I needed to do back at the office.
I spent my free time recharging, whereas now, I can give everyone my full attention.
I’m in charge of my schedule and can adjust as needed to accommodate my goals and personal life.
And don’t get me wrong, it takes A LOT of discipline, but it’s so empowering!
I’M A YOUTUBER
Wow, this was a massive milestone for me! I’m an avid YouTube watcher and have always thought that one day maybe I’d have my own channel. But, fear and ego always got in my way.
I always felt like my life wasn’t interesting enough or that people would judge me for starting one.
But, I made a promise to myself that this year I would face fear head-on and pursue whatever fuels my soul. WHY NOT?
I’m so ready to go full force at my dreams and to share all these new experiences with you!
My new YouTube channel is for anyone interested in personal development or interested in seeing my journey as a new online content creator and solopreneur.

June 2021 Goals
BIG BIRTHDAY GOALS
My birthday is coming up! On July 3rd, I am turning 30, and I am so excited about it.
I love birthdays because it’s an opportunity to reflect on how you’ve grown in the past year.
This year, I get to reflect on how far I’ve come over the past DECADE and… ooh! I have grown!
Before the month ends, I want to write a letter to my future self and talk about all the things I want to accomplish in my thirties.
I want to use this as an opportunity to visualize how I hope this next decade will play out.
I’m so excited for thirty because I feel like I’m just getting started with all of my dreams, and I’m excited to see what will actually come to fruition.
Monthly challenge:
Find time to check in with your personal growth goals. How have you grown in the past year, and what are some goals you’d like to focus on? Use the time to reset and refocus.

PRIORITIZE SELF-CARE
My calendar has been INSANE the past few weeks. Yes, I realize I work for myself and can dictate my schedule, but there is SO MUCH I want to accomplish.
As a solopreneur, I wear many hats and am constantly inspired to take on more and more new projects.
But I need to remember that I am NOT a machine. I am human and need rest to function.
This month, I will pencil in breaks into my schedule where no meetings can be scheduled, no writing, no looking at any LBR platforms, etc.
Although I’m in “grind mode” for my new fledgling business, self-care and breaks are necessary to avoid burnout.
Monthly challenge:
Make time for yourself by blocking out an hour of your day for personal self-care. Give yourself an hour to do whatever will refuel your energy.
