7 Daily Habits to Improve Life
Level up your morning and night routines
My morning and night routines are sacred to me. It’s the time in my day when I get to slow down and take care of myself and my needs.
I use the time to check in, see how I’m doing, and reflect.
What do I need at this moment? What happened today that I can release?
Every routine is unique. What works for me may not work for you – and that’s okay!
Slowly start incorporating new habits and see what works the best for you!

Make your bed every morning.
Make your bed immediately after you get up in the morning.
Do it before you even have time to think about it!
This will allow you to kick start your day feeling accomplished and will create a less stressful environment in your home.
You’ll also thank yourself later when you arrive at a calm, neatly made bed versus one of chaos.
Put your phone on ‘night mode.’
The ‘night mode’ feature on iPhone mutes notification sounds on your phone unless it’s a call or emergency.
I LOVE this feature because it removes distractions during my work hours.
I can focus on what I’m doing without the constant curiosity of what’s happening in my ‘dinging’ phone.
Of course, you can still check your phone throughout the day, but this at least lessens the unnecessary distraction coming from apps that you do not need to be checking all the time.
Exercise between meetings and tasks
Recently I’ve started adding in small amounts of exercise movements in between tasks and meetings.
For example, I’ll do ten squats or lunges as I wait for my Zoom meeting to start. Or, I’ll get up and do five pushups in between TV episode binges.
Breaking up your day with little exercises will keep your body moving and the blood flowing.
It can help keep you awake and energized throughout the day while also keeping you limber.
No work during meals
Make it a point to stop working while you eat. Use meal times as an excuse to take a real break.
Do something enjoyable like watching Youtube, reading, or listening to music in peace.
Or, use the time to appreciate the meal in front of you!
Make your meals a designated time for self-nourishment.
This will force you to take a break during the day so that work doesn’t take over your life completely.

Practice gratitude in the morning and night.
A gratitude practice will help you focus your attention on finding the good in all situations.
You unshackle yourself from negative emotions as you refocus on the positive.
Expressing gratitude can raise your energy levels and bring you into a more positive state of mind.
As you continue to practice gratitude daily, you become more attuned to seeking with seeking the positive.
Stretch throughout the day
Find moments to stretch your body during the day.
Stretching helps prevent your body from tightening up.
It helps loosen your muscles and is excellent for people who have to sit for long periods or hover over a computer all day.
Stretching is also a magical way to relax and unwind (sometimes literally!) from the day.
