Have you ever woken up and just felt blah about the day? And then, the next few days, you also felt blah and just couldn’t muster up the energy or motivation to do anything? Off days are totally normal, but there are a few simple tricks that can help you get out of a funk when those days happen.

How to Get Out of a Funk
Take a warm shower.
Let yourself take in and enjoy the feeling of the warm water running against your body. Try visualizing yourself washing away your worries.
Set your alarm for earlier in the day.
Shake up your routine a bit and wake up just a little bit earlier in the day. Give yourself the gift of a quiet, slow morning and ease into the day.
Get ready for the day.
Change out of your pajamas to make a clear distinction between bedtime and daytime. Get ready as if you had someplace to go.
Put on your favorite outfit.
Wear an outfit you love – just because! Find something that makes you feel exemplary and special every time you wear it.
Drink a cold glass of water.
Wake yourself up with the cool sensation. Raise your energy levels by staying hydrated throughout the day.
Move!
Walk around or stretch a little to keep your body moving throughout the day. Avoid sitting or lying down in one position for too long.
Clean your space.
Declutter your environment to make it a less stressful space to be in. Cleaning will also provide a sense of accomplishment.
Journal
Reflect on why you’re in a funk. Write down any negative feelings and visualize those feelings release out of you and onto the paper.

Breathe.
Take a moment to inhale and exhale deeply. Fill your body with oxygen, and on the exhale, release all the heavy negative feelings you’ve been holding in. Let go of the funk!
Get fresh air.
Crack open a window, sit on your balcony, or go on a walk. Studies show that your energy levels can increase by 90% just by going outside.
Write out your tasks.
Sometimes slumps happen when we feel overwhelmed by what’s going on in our life. Get your to-do list out of your head and list it out on paper.
Change up your environment.
Keep your area fresh. Avoid a stale environment by either adding, moving, or removing something from your space.
Practice gratitude.
Take a moment to reflect on what you have and where you are in life. Actively try to find the good in everything and express gratitude for even the mundane everyday items in your life.

Visualize your happy place.
Raise your energy levels by visualizing your happy place. Allow yourself to daydream.
Use positive affirmations.
Write down an affirmation for how you want to feel. Read that statement over and over until you genuinely feel as if that statement is true.
Play good music.
Create or find a playlist full of music that will raise your vibration. Sing or dance around like no one is watching!
Call a friend.
Reach out to a loved one. Someone in your tribe that you can lean on to talk about what’s going on. Or use the time to just catch up about life.
Put your phone away.
Leave your phone in another room for an hour. Or find moments throughout the day to periodically walk away from your phone or computer for ten minutes.
Be creative.
Release your tension through art or use your creative outlet as a way to step pull yourself out of whatever thoughts or feelings are lingering within you at the moment.
