This blog post is about how to find joy in your life.
Joy and happiness are not always ever-present in our lives.
Sometimes we have to actively seek out things that make us happy to feel joy.
There will be days or seasons in our life when it can be extra challenging to feel good.
I hope these little tricks will help make it easier for you to find and make space for joy in your life.

How to Find Joy in Your Life
Make time for things that give you joy.
Think about what sparks joy in your life. What gives you energy, and what drains you? Prioritize making time for things that energize you and make you happy.
Stay present.
Bring yourself back to the present moment and start to relish what you have in front of you. One way you can do this is by using your senses to notice specific things in your environment (i.e., smells, sounds, things in front of you, etc.).
Give back.
Seek out ways to give back to others. You can donate, volunteer, or give your time to the people in your life that mean the most to you.
Make self-care a priority.
Self-care is not selfish. Instead, self-care allows you to replenish and recharge your batteries so that you can show up as your best self every day. Add it to your routine instead of saving self-care for when you really need it.
Be yourself.
Lean in to what makes you different and what makes you who you are. It’s a lot easier to go through life when you’re not trying so hard to be someone you’re not. Recognize the value of your individuality and what you bring to the table.
Look for meaning behind things in your life.
Everything in life has value. Start to get past the surface level of the items you have and think about why it’s in your life. Understanding and considering why you do and have what you do is a key to living more intentionally.
Savor joyful moments – both big and small.
Take in and relish happy moments when they occur. Celebrate all your wins and cherish that feeling.
Express gratitude for the mundane.
You have things to be grateful for all around you. Look around and choose something random in your environment. What value does it add to your life? Challenge yourself to find something about it to be grateful for.
Make time for exercise – even if for a little bit.
Moving your body is shown to increase your endorphins and make you feel better. Give back to yourself by taking care of your body.
Appreciate what you already have.
Instead of constantly looking for more, show appreciation for where you currently are and the experiences it provides you. Express gratitude for your current situation and know that it holds a special place in your life journey. Everything happens for a reason.
