Only 30 minutes each way but there’s something about being on a train that just can’t be beat. 🫶🏼 No traffic, no navigating. Just you, getting to fully absorb the area you’re traveling through.

The Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad had both indoor and outdoor seating options. Plus a guide pointing out things to look out for and providing a bit of history.

So worth waking up early for low tide 🩵🐚 never seen so many starfish, muscles, sea anemones, and little crabs in their natural habitat before. Nature is so cool! 🥲

It was an early start but our sleepiness went away quickly once we saw how far out we were able to walk on the beach during low tide.

Plus the quintessential Oregon Coast misty vibes were immaculate and created the perfect cozy atmosphere for our annual girls’ retreat 🩵

Sending postcards allows me to slow down and let the people I love at home know that I’m thinking about them.

It’s become a new Japan souvenir tradition: postcards, stamped and sent from wherever I am in Japan. 📮

A bonus was discovering the unique localized post boxes along the way! ✨

Most people don’t know Aomori has its own Great Bu

Most people don’t know Aomori has its own Great Buddha — and even fewer know you can actually walk inside it. 🤯

The Shōwa Daibutsu at Seiryu-ji Temple stands at 21 meters tall, making it one of the largest bronze seated Buddha statues in Japan — taller than both Kamakura and Nara.

But the real hidden gem is the interior which houses a charming museum explaining Buddhist ideology and sayings, and with walls lined with Buddha figures.

It was unlike anything I expected and I left understanding so much more about Buddhism, one of Japan’s most practiced religions.
