Is it just me, or is time flying by?<\/p>\n\n\n

March and April felt like they stretched on forever. Then I blinked, and all of a sudden, we\u2019re talking about Pumpkin Spice lattes and Christmas shopping. <\/p>\n\n\n

But what will the holiday season look like this year? How are we able to keep the holiday season alive even with all the curveballs 2020 has thrown at us?<\/p>\n\n\n

The 2020 holiday season is bound to be drastically different, and the buzzword I\u2019ve seen brands use lately is \u201cREIMAGINED.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cThe Macy\u2019s Thanksgiving Parade is being reimagined this year!\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cDisney Christmas 2020 to be reimagined!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

The word \u201creimagined\u201d feels appropriate for the times we\u2019re living in right now. Because even though the holidays will be significantly different, it doesn\u2019t mean that the holidays are canceled. <\/p>\n\n\n

It just means that we need to get creative! <\/h5>\n\n\n

There\u2019s an opportunity for us to shake up some of our long-standing traditions and add some new ones that could last even after coronavirus. <\/p>\n\n\n

There are still many ways to make the most out of the current circumstance. No matter what the situation looks like this year!<\/p>\n\n\n

Decorate your space for the holidays<\/h2>\n\n\n

I have lived in my apartment for almost five years, but this is the first time I\u2019ve committed to home decor. <\/p>\n\n\n

We are spending more time at home than ever before, so why not spruce up your space a bit for the holidays this year?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

You don\u2019t need to go too crazy (unless you want to, of course!). But swapping in a few holiday pieces can affect the vibe in your space. <\/p>\n\n\n

So, open up that Pinterest app and start getting inspired!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

Make your own decorations or gifts<\/h2>\n\n\n

Why not put that new quarantine hobby to use? Throw on that holiday Spotify playlist and get to crafting! <\/p>\n\n\n

Crafts and hobbies can help take your mind off of everything happening in the outside world.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

It can also be a great (and sometimes cost-effective) way to add some holiday cheer to your space or even add a personal touch to your gifts this year!<\/p>\n\n\n

Plan \u201cget-togethers\u201d with friends and family<\/h2>\n\n\n

And, I\u2019m not talking about your regular old Zoom \u201chappy hours.\u201d Why not plan a themed get together? <\/p>\n\n\n

Aloha Christmas, anyone? Or, maybe Great Gatsby themed, so you get an excuse to GLAM UP!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

It\u2019s fun to have something to look forward to and get ready for, so anything is on the table.  <\/p>\n\n\n

Bonus: Match your food or drinks too! Whatever helps make it feel as though you\u2019re all together.  <\/p>\n\n\n

Virtual Secret Santa<\/h2>\n\n\n

Ok, ok. So this could potentially be a coordination NIGHTMARE but stick with me for a second. <\/p>\n\n\n

Everyone digitally draws anonymous names and sends gifts straight to the recipient\u2019s house by a specific date. (Make sure there\u2019s a Google doc with everyone\u2019s information.) <\/p>\n\n\n

Then plan a themed Zoom\/Google Hangouts\/whatever get together and open presents. <\/p>\n\n\n

It\u2019ll be secret Santa, but like, not so secret when the gift shows up (unless you guys have ideas on keeping the gifter\u2019s name anonymous – then comment below please!). <\/p>\n\n\n

Send cards<\/h2>\n\n\n

Send handwritten holiday cards to your friends and family, or maybe make your own cards to send.  <\/p>\n\n\n

You can even go a step further and send letters to seniors in nursing homes who may not have families through nonprofits like Love For Our Elders<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n

Support nonprofits this season<\/h2>\n\n\n

Now more than ever, nonprofits need your support. They work tirelessly year-round to support their mission, and this year has brought on all new challenges with COVID-19. <\/p>\n\n\n

Providing support to these nonprofits could be a great way to elevate how you give this season.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n
